Well, maybe not…but I wish it was!!!!  I love newborns!!!

I love holding newborns.

I love smelling newborns.

I love cuddling newborns.

And I REALLY love photographing newborns.

Since the first few months of the year aren’t usually a busy time for standard types of photo session I thought I would offer a little promotion to help me get my newborn fix!!!

Any newborn session scheduled and taking place during the months of January/February/March will received 50% off the session fee PLUS 2 gift prints (one pose, any size 8×10 or smaller).   I also include one digital image (same pose) sized for printing announcements.    Additional prints and other products can be purchased separately.

And if you know someone who is about to have a baby, I offer gift certificates in any denomination!  This could be the perfect gift for the new parents!!!

I like to schedule newborn sessions during the first 5 – 10 days.  I will tentatively schedule the session date based on the baby’s due date.  Once the baby is born, contact me at your earliest convenience to finalize the date.

I do all newborn sessions in the parent’s home.  I bring all the backdrops and props needed.  My sessions can run anywhere from 2 – 4 hours.  Newborn sessions have a lot more downtime than other sessions as the little one often needs breaks for feeding, changing or just some cuddling.

I had such a great time with my Spring “Mommy and Me” mini sessions, that I decided to offer some family mini sessions for the fall!

I know a lot of families love fall photos and this is a great opportunity to get a beautiful new family portrait during one of the most beautiful seasons!  These sessions are a bit different than my spring sessions since I am not scheduling them all on one day and I am offering more options including an option for a digital image that you can use for your own printing or even to use in your upcoming Christmas cards!

I am so excited we are starting another season of senior portraits!  Seniors are one my absolutely favorite type of sessions.   They are so fun and unique.  And it is such an exciting time in their lives – on the verge of adulthood and eager to start chasing their dreams.

I love capturing a senior’s unique personality and interests.   I shoot on-location, and have done shoots all throughout the area (and beyond!).  However, I am also eager to try new locations and ideas.  I am always thrilled when I senior wants to shoot somewhere I never shot before:

Or wants to incorporate one of their favorite hobbies!

Because all seniors are so different, I offer a few different types of senior sessions.

Standard Senior Sessions

This is my most popular session.  The standard session is a 1 – 3 hour on location session.  You can choose a few different locations and multiple outfit changes.   I choose and edit the best images of the session and upload them to a password protected gallery where you can view and share the photos and order your prints and other products.

Standard sessions are just so much fun.  It always takes a little while for the senior to get comfortable being the center of attention and to start feeling less awkward and more like America’s Next Top Model.   By being very generous in the amount of time I spend during the portrait session, I find that once the awkwardness passes, and the senior relaxes, that is when the truly amazing images happen!   And I have often been told, at the end of the session  – “That was SO much fun!!!”.

BFF Senior Session

BFF sessions are, like my standard session, a 1 – 3 hour on-location session that can include a few different locations and multiple outfit changes.  However, A BFF session is a session that you share with, obviously, your BFF!  I have done these sessions with best friends and even a few twins!  And we always have a blast!

Each senior takes turns getting their individual portraits.  I will also take some photos together.  But the main purpose of the BFF session is to allow the seniors to enjoy their senior session with their best friend.  And I find that BFF sessions are just a bit more relaxed!

Each senior gets their own individual, password protected gallery of images.  Since it is a shared session, each senior’s gallery has a few less images to choose from, but I find that, for most, it is still more than enough!

Simple Senior Session

Lastly, I offer a “simple” senior session.   This is a great and economical session for a senior who may just not be interested in a full session.  A simple session is a 30 minute session that must be conducted within the zip code 16301.   But if you are a senior who lives outside the area, you are welcome to travel in!  There are a whole host of location options within this area that I am sure will meet any senior’s needs!

The senior gets an online, password protected gallery, of about 10 – 15 images to choose from.   Just enough to choose your yearbook image and give mom a few portraits to display!

**** 5.10.11 update:  I had such a wonderful time during my Mommy and Me sessions that I am extending this offer for a limited time.   The sessions will be held at Hasson Park, but will be scheduled individually.

I have been thinking about doing some type of spring mini session for a while.  But, to be honest, the typical spring/Easter sessions with bunnies and chicks are just not my style.  I much prefer natural surroundings, beautiful moments and honest smiles.

So, as I hemmed and hawed over what I should do, I read, yet another, article about how important it is for YOU (as a parent, grandparent) to get in more photos with your children (and grandchildren).   So many moms don’t want to be in photos because they aren’t thrilled with the way [they think] they look.  They think they need to lose weight, get in shape, change their hair.  Or they claim “I take horrible photos!”.

What we neglect to take into consideration is that our kids love us completely unconditionally.  And when we are gone, our children and grandchildren are going to treasure those photos.  Yes, they will also love the photos of themselves as they were children, but don’t we all just love seeing photos of ourselves as kids (or even adults) WITH our parents???  And do we look at those photos and think, I wish mom wasn’t in the photo because she needed to lose weight?  Absolutely NOT.

So, in honor of Mother’s Day, and in an effort to encourage ALL moms (or grandmothers) to stop worrying about whether they look good in photos and to get in front of the camera  – I am offering “Mommy and Me Mini Sessions!”

I really would be honored for an opportunity to capture some cherished moments with your family, FOR your family.   Trust me, they will thank you.

Sessions will start at 9:00 A.M.  I will plan on Sunday, May 1st for a rain date.  And, if that doesn’t work, I will be rescheduling for the following weekend.    Payment is required to reserve your session and is non-refundable.  If we have to cancel, I will work with all families to reschedule.  A complete price list is available upon request.

Me and one of my own munchkins – sweet Caroline. I am not good at practicing what I preach so I am in only a handful of [my thousands of] photos.  Largely because no one else really knows how to use my camera.  But I used my self timer one evening and I love this photo.  I even blew it up big and put it on my wall. All my kids just LOVE this picture.  Although my oldest said “you look so young in that photo”.  And I am not sure if that means I usually look old….hmmmmm.

I recently added a few new senior sessions to my senior portrait offerings. 

First - the BFF senior session!

If you are interested in sharing your senior session with your best friend, sibling, cousin, or whomever you want, you can now schedule your session together (and save!).  Two seniors can schedule their sessions on the same day and time and share the session cost.  I will provide each of you about 30 – 40 artistically edited proofs in your own individual online gallery.  I will include lots of individual shots – as well as, of course, some with your BFF!  You can choose the prints and other products you want to order from these images.  All products can be ordered directly through me via the gallery.   

The BFF session, like my individual senior sessions, can last 1 – 3 hrs and can be conducted at the location or locations of your choice.  You can also incorporate a few different outfit changes if you would like.  I do all sessions on location, so you can choose where you want to shoot – whether that is at a pretty park, a rural field, an urban setting – or a little bit of all!  And if you don’t have any locations in mind, just let me know what look you and your BFF are interested in and I will give you a whole host of location ideas to choose from!

I also am offering “Simple Senior Sessions” this year.  For those seniors who aren’t interested in a full senior session, a simple session is a lower cost alternative.  The simple sessions last 30 minutes and are conducted only within zip code 16301.  If you live outside of this area, you are welcome to travel here, there are many different location options available.    For simple sessions, I will provide about 8 artistically edited proofs in an online gallery where you can choose which prints or other products you would like to order.  Simple sessions are only conducted on weekdays.
