Meet Mark!

He is a very nice guy who I met for a session in a very cool location. We were a bit worried as the sky was overcast and was threatening rain, but it ended up being almost perfect light – bright AND overcast. The bright cloudy day, along with colors of the grass, the trees and the amazing stone walls and steps, made for a pretty much “picture perfect” photo setting.

Mark was such an easy going, pleasant person to work with. You can just see his personality in his photos.

As I said – perfect light!

Towards the end, I asked if we could try a few non-smiling photos. I love the “cool factor” of these shots!

And then there is the photo of the guy with his first car….lucky guy!

Thank you Mark so much for this opportunity. I wish you all the best in all your future endeavors!

This week I was so happy to have had an opportunity to take photos of an adorable little newborn (well, what newborn isn’t adorable??). This is baby Chase.

He was my first newborn shoot. I was so nervous, but that nervousness quickly faded. He made the entire experience so easy and so enjoyable. I just couldn’t get enough of him. I probably took way more pictures than I needed to, but I couldn’t help myself!!!

Anyway, I am just getting started with my editing of this session. So I will definitely be posting MANY more photos of Chase soon!!!

If you, or anyone you know, is expecting, please consider contacting me for your newborn photos. To get the sleepy, cuddly photos like the one above, you need to take the photos when your baby is about 6 – 10 days old. This is the time when they are still very curled up and when they will sleep through all the posing and moving around without getting too upset. It is a very small window of opportunity! The easiest way to ensure you can get those photos scheduled, is to contact me when you know your due date and I can pencil you in for an estimated session date. We can then set the actual session date as soon as you deliver!!!

Meet Lisa! Lisa is a sweet girl who I have “known of” for a few years now. Although we never actually met until now!

I have actually known Lisa’s mom for a while and, as expected, Lisa was just as sweet and easy going as her mom. She was up for about anything and her great attitude made our afternoon quite fun and very stress free!

We started the session at her house. She didn’t think there were many good areas for photos around her home, but with a few trees and some pretty light, we found quite a few scenic spots!

She has a little kitty that she absolutely adores, and she really wanted to include him in a few shots. However, if you know cats, you know that they aren’t going ANYWHERE. If you want to see them, you come to them! LOL! So, Lisa brought her little (HUGE) cat out to her front porch for just a few shots.

About 1.2 minutes later, the cat was done and we were off for more non-cat photos.

Lisa is a voracious reader. So she and her mom thought it would be cool to take a few shots that would capture her most favorite hobby. I was quite happy to get some really pretty photos of her and her books in her own backyard.

After the we finished the shots at home, we ventured into town where I had found a cool little alley. Lisa was all for a more urban look and I took a ton of photos incorporating the cool brick and even graffiti covered walls.

I had a great time and think we got some very cool and very pretty photos. Thank you both so much!

The last time I was at Freedom Falls was before I was married. And we are going to be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary in a couple weeks! So, needless to say, it has been a long time and I have been itching to get out there with my camera.

The weather here in Western PA has been pretty gloomy and cold. It has definitely not been a great season for the typical summer activities. But, overcast weather is actually the perfect time to photograph waterfalls!

The lack of light allows you to slow down your shutter and get a pretty nice and smooth water flow. And I was pretty happy with my first attempt at waterfall photography!

I also thought, as we treked down to the falls, that Freedom Falls makes for a gorgeous backdrop for a photo session! The rocks and trees and creek and, of course, falls, provides a multitude of cool backdrops!!! As long as you don’t mind a bit a trek down a hill, it may be a great place for your next family or even a senior session!

Have a great day!!!
